I am on the lani again drinking coffee. It is 4:30 pm here 8:30 in Saskatoon. What are you guys up to this time of day on a Monday night? Phil and I and the boys went to Lahiana to have lunch and go on a submarine ride. It took most the day but we had some fun family time. We stopped by the banyan tree to get some photos. It is a huge tree where the roots grow down from the branches. We had a delisious snack of flavored shaved ice on top of vanilla icecream. The kids are now swimming with gram while Phil reads his book and I am having some quiet time on the computer. Tomorow Phil and the kids will be taking surfing lessons and I will be taking pictures from the safety of the beach.
Over the last few days we have been swimming, snorkling, shopping and doing very little homework. I saw a couple of turtles when I snorkled at 7:30 am. It was a quiet time to snorkle, the waves haven't picked up yet and the fish have not gone into hiding yet. I took some pictures with my disposable underwater camera. Then I discovered water inside my camera so I don't know if those photos will work out or not.
We leave one week tomorow, it is hard to believe we have already been here a week. We have spent lots of time walking on the beach. Each time we walk I try to memorize the view because I wonder if it is the last time we will be on the beautiful island that God created.

Maui 2010 with the whole family and my Mom
I am sitting on the lani (deck) enjoying the sun. We are staying at the Mona Kai Maui an ocean front condo on the 5th floor. I can feel the sun burning my skin as I enjoy have coffee with my husband. We are watching the suns reflections sparkling on the ocean and listening to the waves lapping at the shore. The feeling here is very relaxing, no one is in a hurry. 2 of my kids are having a break from the sun one is out swiming in the pool with gram. Today is day one of our 2 week vacation in Maui, HI.
If I can figure it out I will try to add some photos throught the next couple of weeks.
Our travels here were uneventful. Yvonne picked us up at 10:00 am and we arrived at our condo at 4:00 am Saskatoon time, which is 12:00 am Maui time. We are taking it a bit easy today because we are all quite tired. Mom and I made up a grocery list in advance so first thing this morning we went to FoodLand to get the majority of our groceries for the next 2 weeks. You get 10% off the whole order when you show your room key and the coupon available at the condo. We had hot chicken and buns for lunch and now the bones have been boiled and the soup is on for supper. We prefer to cook our own meals which are cost effective and we don't like to eat in over priced restraunts when the food isn't that good anyways.
We are all looking forward to our chance at pearl diving (dry land only lol). I will explain more on that later. I also took time to snorkle and saw my favoite fish Humahumanukanukaapuaa (hopefully I spelled that right it is hard enough to say). Peter came with me for a short time. Neither of us had flippers on so we didn't go out very far.
I heard it is -20 in Saskatoon today.
